Back then, being a &#8220;fake left-hander&#8221; was treated as a problem to fix, with endless lines copied out with the right hand. Two outcomes were expected: I&#8217;d finally learn to write with the &#8220;correct&#8221; hand, or I&#8217;d lose all interest in writing altogether. Neither happened.<\/p><p>Writing became one of my most important tools, on a path that has taken far more turns than straight lines \u2014 but however far it wanders, it always circles back to the same territory: creating and writing fiction with an educational heart, for kids and young readers.<\/p><p>A few highlights along the way:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Rafa &amp; Emily<\/strong> \u2014 animated feature script, finalist in several international screenplay competitions.<\/li><li><strong>NutriVentures and Masterminds<\/strong> \u2014 animated series episodes.<\/li><li><strong>Uma Embalagem na M\u00e3o and O Desfile das Embalagens<\/strong> \u2014 recycling tales for academiapontoverde.pt.<\/li><li><strong>F\u00e9rias na Casa do Vento<\/strong> \u2014 suspense and adventure novel, illustrated by Afonso Cruz.<\/li><li><strong>Animiniarte<\/strong> \u2014 live learning activities for museums and cultural spaces.<\/li><\/ul><p>In my free time, I keep collecting stories about the animals around me who make me happy.<\/p><p>Take a look at my portfolio, or get in touch if you&#8217;d like to talk about a project.<\/p><p>_______<\/p><p>Aprendi a escrever com a m\u00e3o esquerda, quando, para tudo o resto, sempre avan\u00e7ou mais r\u00e1pida a outra m\u00e3o. Ser falsa canhota foi, na altura, visto como um problema que devia ser colmatado com uma infinidade de c\u00f3pias escritas com a m\u00e3o direita. Previa-se uma de duas consequ\u00eancias: aprender de vez a escrever com a m\u00e3o &#8220;certa&#8221;, ou ficar sem vontade de voltar a escrever.
